I agree with that, definitely chickens... unless we're talking chick-lit, in which case literature!

don't get me started on a rant about how the term "chick-lit" has been corrupted by popular culture and has come to mean something completely opposite of its original coinage. Google Cris Mazza and Elizabeth Sheffield for history on the term... their anthology of punked-out, post-feminist, ground-breaking work from the edgiest women writers around was the first to employ the term... and the fact that everyone has used it pejoratively ever since is a smidge irksome.

Okay, I've done a bit of googling and read Cris Mazza's description of chick-lit from 1995 - certainly a far cry from the stuff that's deemed as chick-lit today!
