Filling in Empty Spaces
crossword puzzles, blank pages, empty houses, apartments
we fill them with letters, words, things
we cannot have emptyˆ
they are too lonely, too bare
we need things to make us feel better
we must take every inch, every white square
it must be filled
it will force the loneliness out
we reach for connection
we stagger towards it
